Asher shuts it down at MTV's spring break and previews some cuts from the album that I have never heard up until now. Toward the end he is even joined on stage by Jim Jones for a wild ass remix to "I Love College". Nice clear video and audio... a beautiful thing.

Video: B.O.B. Changes His Name To 'Bobby Ray'

“People hit me on Facebook, Twitter, on MySpace,” he said with a smile in his home. “I don’t know how it got to that. How it got twisted to ‘I quit.’ I didn’t quit. Things got misunderstood.”

B.o.B’s new sound has involved a lot of instrumentation and a rock-and-roll edge.

“Now I go by the name Bobby Ray. Make sure you put Bobby Ray, the MC revealed. “I’m really going into a new direction — more free and not trying to live up to any particular genre. I don’t feel like I’ve been doing that. I don’t feel like I’ve been trying to fit in, but I feel even more free-spirited. I have more willingness musically. That’s all I’m about. I’m about guitars, chords and keyboards.”

News: Asher Roth helps stop a terrorist attack!!

So apparently Asher Roth was on a flight coming into LAX, when a man yells to everyone that he had a bomb. After an altercation with one of the flight crew members, some of the passengers beat dude up and held him down until the police arrived. One of these passengers was non other than white suburban hip hop artist, Asher Roth. Pretty crazy story, check out the official reports.

MTV.com reports, Asher Roth has had quite a week, and not just because he was named one of our "MCs to Watch in 2009": On Wednesday (January 7), he and several fellow passengers subdued a man who claimed he had a bomb and assaulted at least one crew member of a Delta Airlines flight bound for Los Angeles from Atlanta, his publicist confirmed to MTV News.

According to The Associated Press, FBI spokesperspon Laura Eimiller said the man announced he had a bomb as the plane was landing at Los Angeles International Airport. The man "lunged for one of the doors" once the flight had landed, but according to Roth's rep, the MC's guitarist, Chris Llewellyn, was the first to tackle the man, and Roth and other fellow passengers joined in. Crew members then bound the man with plastic ties, according to the AP. Llewellyn remained behind to talk to the FBI, his rep said, while Roth rushed to make his call time for his appearance on "Last Call With Carson Daly."

The man was detained by FBI agents and the Los Angeles airport police, and could face federal and state charges, according to the AP. Eimiller said that he was currently being interviewed by authorities, but his motive and mental state were not immediately clear. She said no bomb was found, although the plane and the man's baggage were searched for explosives.

So it looks like MTV has taken a late que from XXL and is telling us who it will be "cool" to like in the upcoming year. All kidding aside, all these guys are pretty dope for the most part. Where is the love for Charles Hamilton though?....just saying.
