Seeing as everyone (and their mom dukes) have made the switch over to Twitter, I recently decided to see what all the hype was about. Now I see. I am considering throwing up the majority of my quick "leaky leak" download links on our Twitter page and just save this blog for the really dope content. What do you think?

Video: Common & Erykah Badu - The Light @ SxSW (Direct Audio)

Fader TV brings us some classic footage from this year's SXSW of Common's ode to Erykah with her actually in the house. On a side note, Ms. Badu was a little late for the show because there was a stalker outside her house. True story, check below for the full story reported by Dallas Penn:

Saturday morning, from the South by Southwest shindig down in Austin, Pete wondered over on DC9 whether Erykah Badu would be playing Auditorium Shores, as expected, or Malaysia, as pictured. Turns out, she was heading to Austin after all -- but only after being delayed in Dallas, where police were detaining a stalker in front of her house. Badu's isn't exactly the most tucked-away home in town, which is how a "white woman mid to late 20's," as Badu described her on her Twitter account, found the place -- and brought with her some "weird writting."

Badu, who recently tweeted the birth of her daughter, recounted the entire episode -- which Entertainment Weekly followed Saturday night, posting several updates during the course of Badu's abbreviated show on the Shores. (She also joined Kanye West and Common at The Levi's®/FADER Fort on Saturday night.) As Erykah wrote, the stalker showed up three times -- first at 1 p.m. -- and left after the singer-songwriter exchanged a few words. Two visits later, she wrote, she had no choice but to get Dallas police involved. DPD senior corporal Kevin Jans, a department spokesman, tells Unfair Park that an "obsessed fan," as she was described in the police report, was indeed arrested Saturday night. The disturbing police narrative, including references to "a dog that will eat your soul," follows after the jump.

News: Fox Channel 11 News Breaks Down Whole Chris Brown Situation!

Finally it seems like a clear story has emerged of what happened with Chris "Ike" Brown and Rihanna on that infamous night. The news outlet above got this information by somehow obtaining notes taken by one of the police officers working the case. I find it sort of interesting that nobody in the industry has spoke out against what he did, and those who did have retracted their comments days later. I think this is beyond fucked up personally, but I guess he could still be innocent?? Smh.

HilAAriousness: Porno Failure.

Imagine sitting in your apartment and all the sudden hearing some loud screams of a woman coming from the unit next door. Being the good samaritan that you are, you get up (armed with a sword of course) and blast into your neighbors apartment to see what's going on and save the damsel in distress... only instead of the sounds coming from a person, the noise is actually coming from a really loud porno. Yeah sort of a fail. But hey, I guess it could be worse.... being the dude who is in the middle of a sausage stretch and having someone bust your door down.

News: Bay Area Legislator Fights to Legalize Marijuana

San Francisco Assmn. Tom Ammaino is leading the debate amongst legislators over the potential state revenues that could be earned from the legalization of marijuana. He says these additional funds could be reinvested in schools, highways, and other important state infustructure costs. It sounds like a ton of dough, and I think we all know society would not trun into 'reefer madness'. However, there is still the small issue of the Feds...or maybe Obama will be down. Friggin' Hippies.

News: Asher Roth speaks on terrorist incident!

Asher speaks with Cipha Sounds and Peter Rosenberg about the recent situation which involved members of his band helping to subdue a man claiming to have a bomb on a Delta flight into LAX. Here he explains some of the details of what exactly went down, and lets it be known that he was not the first person to tackle the would-be terrorist, it was actually his guitarist, Chris Llewellyn. Props to Asher and the band for helping keep our skies nice and friendly. Check out the interview below.

News: Asher Roth helps stop a terrorist attack!!

So apparently Asher Roth was on a flight coming into LAX, when a man yells to everyone that he had a bomb. After an altercation with one of the flight crew members, some of the passengers beat dude up and held him down until the police arrived. One of these passengers was non other than white suburban hip hop artist, Asher Roth. Pretty crazy story, check out the official reports.

MTV.com reports, Asher Roth has had quite a week, and not just because he was named one of our "MCs to Watch in 2009": On Wednesday (January 7), he and several fellow passengers subdued a man who claimed he had a bomb and assaulted at least one crew member of a Delta Airlines flight bound for Los Angeles from Atlanta, his publicist confirmed to MTV News.

According to The Associated Press, FBI spokesperspon Laura Eimiller said the man announced he had a bomb as the plane was landing at Los Angeles International Airport. The man "lunged for one of the doors" once the flight had landed, but according to Roth's rep, the MC's guitarist, Chris Llewellyn, was the first to tackle the man, and Roth and other fellow passengers joined in. Crew members then bound the man with plastic ties, according to the AP. Llewellyn remained behind to talk to the FBI, his rep said, while Roth rushed to make his call time for his appearance on "Last Call With Carson Daly."

The man was detained by FBI agents and the Los Angeles airport police, and could face federal and state charges, according to the AP. Eimiller said that he was currently being interviewed by authorities, but his motive and mental state were not immediately clear. She said no bomb was found, although the plane and the man's baggage were searched for explosives.
