If you didn't see last night's episode of South Park, then click the link below and check it out. They ripped Kanye pretty hard, and the autotune song at the end is hilarious! Check 2Dopeboyz.com for Kanye's written response, he takes it surprising well...
Check out some behind the scenes footy of GLC & Kanye's video for Big Screen. It looks like a real classy joint (some of that ham and eggs shit), and will feature cameos from all of Chicago. I hope more people start doing concept videos like this again, I used to love all those old Death Row videos that actually had some kind of story-line going on instead of 30 dudes spraying champagne of each other in front of a white backdrop. I will be sure the throw up the finished product as soon asap.
Due to the relentless attack on Ross' credibility at the hands of Curtis, I was beginning to think this album may never see the light of day... or at least not sell more than 5k units. However, after the album listening session that went down the other day a lot of people are saying how surprised they were to discover the album is actually really dope. Especially the Justice League produced tracks, which anyone who picked up Trilla will know provide the best backdrop for Ricky's bossy lines. Check below for a snippet of Yeezy's verse on Maybach Music Pt.2 also produced by the JL.
UPDATE: I also threw up another listening session snippet of the song featuring Nas. Check it out.
I can appreciate this song and video. As a victim of getting far too intoxicated and not being able to "maintain" while simultaneously seeing the entire world as a blur, this low quality YouTube video really hits home for me. To add to such a gem of musical piece, these two whippersnappers took a page right out of the old Johnny Knoxville book, and got nice and old. Off 88-Keys album, The Death of Adam.
Kanye and 88-Keys aka "Rufus and Clifford," drop a little preview for their upcoming video for Keep It Up (Viagra). Looks pretty interesting but I really don't even want to know what inspired them to make this song.
Check out this original recording of one of my favorite tracks from College Dropout. This one features GLC, and was done way back in 2003 when the world was a much different place. Curtis was the king, I was still in High School (Grizzlies what!), and nobody had heard of facebook or this blogging game...aaah, the good ol' days.
It is a beautiful day when you wake up to not one but two unreleased Yeezy tracks, although I dont know where they are from? I'm guessing they are some left overs from the Good Ass Job sessions that got put on hold once he discovered the wonders of auto-tune. Thanks to HNHH and Arvin for the tip.
I have said it before and I will say it again, I think the entire concept for this show is DOPE and they really could not have picked someone better than Yeezy to kick it off... check the clips below to see Ye performing a bunch of his biggest hits and even discussing the thought process that went into creating them. Also, click here to download the official Vh1 Storyteller Live mixtape. "Now throw ya hand up in the skyyyy.."
“See You in My Nightmares (Live From VH1 Storytellers)”
Yeezy will be featured on the first installment of VH1's upcoming Storyteller series, which a great look since Kanye's stage show is on point (plus he loves to talk). I must say think the idea for this show is dope and I am pretty juiced to check it out, especially after seeing this revamped version of Stonger...
Yeezy chops it up with Sway about working with Jay-Z on the highly anticipated Blueprint 3, fashion, and how excited he is to see Jim Jones bring back Cam'ron? Interesting...
BONUS: Kanye West feat. Kid Cudi - Welcome To Heartbreak (Official Video)
. Kanye stops by the Neighborhood and appropriately is dressed like Mr. Rodgers. Interesting interview though, he talks about the whole Chris Brown situation and talks more about the rumors he is gay. I believe you Yeezy, now shut up about it please.
Kanye sits down with Sway and fields some questions about some of his more questionable style choices, and how he responds to the accusations that he is gay (such as the video of Curtis below). Check it out.
Four of hip hop's most interesting characters AND a very pregnant MIA, how could it be anything but a dope performance? Live from tonight's Grammy Award Show.
BONUS: Chris Martin feat. Jay-Z (live at the grammys)
